The best free tools to watermark photos in bulk
Photographers, shops and agents need the same logo or © line on a whole set of pictures. These four tools all do batches; they differ in what the free version leaves on your photos and where the files go.
We make Watermark, one of the tools on this page. Every fact about the other tools comes from their own pages, linked under each one, as they read on 2026-10-24. Prices and features change: check each site before you choose.
How we compared them
- The free version leaves only your watermark, not one of its own
- Batch size and other free limits
- Where the photos are processed
- Watermark options: logo, text, tiling, rotation, opacity

1. Watermark (ours)
Best for: A free batch of up to 500 photos, videos or PDFs with your logo or text and no mark of its own, without uploading anything.
Good
- Logo and text layers, nine positions, tiling and rotation from -180° to 180°
- Logo sized to each picture, with separate settings for portrait, landscape, square and panorama
- Live preview, then apply to all; download each file or a ZIP
- Pictures keep their pixel size; the setup is remembered in your browser
- Videos (MP4, MOV, WebM) get the mark on every frame with the sound kept; PDFs get it as real text and images on each page
- The same watermark is in Image Editor, Video Editor, PDF Editor and Workflows
- Works on your phone, tablet and computer in the browser, even offline
Not so good
- Still in beta
- Videos need the video engine, a one-time download, and take a while on slower computers
- An animated WebP keeps only its first frame; PDF text uses the standard PDF fonts, so some characters become "?"
2. Watermarkly
Best for: People who want apps on every device and also watermark PDFs and videos, and will pay to remove its logo.
Good
- Text and logo watermarks with over 900 fonts, opacity and rotation
- Web app, desktop apps and mobile apps; PDFs and video on some of them
- Saved templates synced across devices
- Says files stay in your browser and are not stored on its servers
Not so good
- The free version adds a Watermarkly logo next to yours
- Video only in the Windows, Mac and iOS apps

3. Visual Watermark
Best for: Offline desktop batches with tiling and 100 opacity levels, after a free trial.
Good
- Desktop app for Windows and macOS that works offline: images never reach its server
- Tiling, rotation and 100 levels of transparency
- Batch processing on all CPU cores; keeps EXIF and IPTC in JPEGs
- Outputs JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF and BMP
Not so good
- A trial, not a free plan: trial output carries its own text
- An install for the desktop version

Not so good
- Free tasks are limited to 30 files and 200 MB, with ads
- Files are uploaded to its servers for processing
- Mobile access only with Premium

Questions
Which free watermark tool does not add its own logo?
Watermark adds only your watermark. Watermarkly's free version adds a Watermarkly logo and Visual Watermark's trial adds trial text, by their own pages. iLoveIMG's pages do not say.
How many photos can I watermark at once for free?
Watermark takes up to 500 files at a time and iLoveIMG up to 30 files per task. Watermarkly and Visual Watermark do batches but do not state a free number.
Are my photos uploaded?
Watermark stamps them in your browser. Watermarkly says files stay in your browser, Visual Watermark's desktop app works offline, and iLoveIMG processes files on its servers and deletes them after download.
Can I watermark a video or PDF?
Yes in Watermark: drop videos and PDFs with your photos, and the same watermark goes on every frame and every page, on your device. Watermarkly and Visual Watermark do PDFs and video in some of their apps.
