CSV to TSV and CSV separator converter

A European Excel saves CSV with semicolons, a database wants commas, a script wants tabs: change the separator without breaking quoted cells.

Accepts

CSV (.csv). Other file types are not converted on this page; the File Converter hub takes every kind it knows.

How to convert

  1. The file is read with its quoting rules; the separator is detected, or choose it. Then it is written again with the separator you choose, quoting only the cells that need it.
  2. Tab makes a .tsv file. Choose LF or CRLF line endings for the program that reads it.

Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser, and the file is never sent to ITpris Verktyg or to any other server.

Questions

Will numbers with decimal commas change?

No. Cells are copied as they are; only the separator between them changes.

Can I type or paste instead of a file?

Yes. Type or paste in the box under the converter, and the preview updates as you type.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, on this device. Your files are not sent to ITpris Verktyg or to any other server.
