Write a letter, a report or notes on real pages in a browser tab. Documents needs no installation and no account, and your document stays on your device.

How to do it

Open Documents. A blank document is ready, or choose File, New, Random template for a designed start.
Type, and format with the toolbar: font and size, bold, italic, underline, alignment, bulleted and numbered lists.
Pick a paragraph style: Normal, Title, Heading 1 to 3, Quote or Code.
Choose Save to Files to keep it in this browser (Ctrl+S).
Choose File, Download Word (.docx) to send it, or Print to print it.

While you type, a draft is saved in this browser every second or so, so a closed tab does not lose your work.

Your files stay on this device: Documents runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No. Documents saves to Files, which lives in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Can I open the document in Word?

Yes. Download Word (.docx) writes headings, lists, tables, fonts, alignment and page size that Word and LibreOffice open.

Can I make a PDF?

Choose Print and pick Save as PDF in your browser's print dialog. A direct PDF export is not built yet.

What is not supported yet?

Pictures, headers and footers, footnotes and comments are not built yet, and tables can be shown but not edited.
