How to do it

1. Open Spreadsheets. A blank workbook is ready, or choose File, From template.
2. Type values and formulas such as =SUM(B2:B20) or =XLOOKUP(A2, D2:D50, E2:E50).
3. Format with bold, italic and number formats, add sheets, and freeze the header row.
4. Choose Save to keep the workbook in Files in this browser.
5. Download XLSX for Excel or CSV for other apps.

Which formulas work?

Over 300 functions: maths, statistics, text, dates, logic and lookups, including SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH and XLOOKUP.

Can I open the file in Excel?

Yes. Download XLSX keeps values, formulas, bold and italic, number formats, column widths, merges and frozen panes.

Can I open an Excel file in it?

Yes. Open or drop an .xlsx or .ods file: values, formulas, number formats, widths, merges, frozen panes and simple charts come in, and a notice names anything left out. Old .xls files are not read.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Workbooks are saved in Files in this browser and a draft is kept as you type. Nothing goes to a server.
