Time zone converter

Type a time in one zone and see it in every city on your list at once, with the day it falls on and the offset from GMT. Daylight saving changes are handled for you.

Convert a time

How to do it

  1. Open World Clock from this page: it starts on the Convert tab.
  2. In Time is in, start typing a city such as Lisbon or Chicago and pick its zone from the list.
  3. Set the Date and type the Time (24 h), such as 09:30, or press Use the current time.
  4. Read the table: every city on your list with its local time, the day (-1, 0 or +1) and its GMT offset.
  5. Below it, pick two zones under Time difference between two zones to see how far apart they are right now.
  6. Add or remove cities on the World clock tab; the converter uses the same list.

Your files stay on this device: World Clock runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.

Questions

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. The offsets come from your browser's own time zone data for the date you enter, so a time in March or November uses the offset in force on that day.

Which time zones are there?

Every zone your browser knows, which is the IANA list (Europe/London, Asia/Kolkata and so on). Your city list starts as London, New York and Tokyo until you change it.

What about a time that does not exist, such as 02:30 on the night the clocks go forward?

A time in the spring-forward gap moves forward to the first real time, and an ambiguous time in the autumn takes the earlier of the two.

Is anything downloaded or sent?

No. The zone list and the offsets come from your browser, and the page makes no network calls while you use it.
