Pick colours from a picture
Drop a photo, a screenshot or a logo, then point at it. The magnifier shows the pixels under the point, a click picks the colour, and the picture's main colours are found for you.
How to do it
- Drop the picture on the page, or click Open picture… (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or SVG).
- Move over the picture: the magnifier shows the pixels and the colour under the point. Click to pick it; on a phone, lift your finger.
- Or use the keyboard: arrow keys move one pixel, Shift and an arrow ten, Enter adds the colour to the palette.
- Under Main colours of the picture, see its colours with their share; set Colours to find in the panel for more or fewer.
- Click Add all to the palette, then Download palette or Copy any value.

Questions
How are the main colours found?
By k-means clustering in the OKLab colour space, started from a fixed seed, so the same picture gives the same colours every time.
Is the picked colour exact?
Yes: it is the pixel's own value. Very large pictures are shown at 1600 pixels on the long side first.
Is my picture uploaded?
No. It is read and drawn in your browser and never leaves your device.
