Make your own font, free, in your browser
Font Creator is a font editor in a web page. Pick a letter, draw it on the metric lines, check it in the type test and download a font that installs on any computer.
How to do it
- Open Font Creator and pick a letter in the glyph grid on the left (Basic Latin is shown first; Latin-1 and Latin Extended-A are in the list above it).
- Draw it: the Pen (P) for curves, Rectangle (R) and Ellipse (E) for shapes, or Stroke (S) for a monoline letter. Points snap to the grid and to the baseline, x-height and cap height.
- Set its Width, Left side and Right side in the panel, and combine overlapping shapes with Path ▾ Union or Subtract.
- Open the Kerning view to close up pairs like AV and To, and the Type test view to read your text at several sizes.
- Choose a Format under Export and click Download font, or Save to Files….
Your files stay on this device: Font Creator runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Which formats can I download?
TrueType (.ttf) and OpenType (.otf) to install on Windows, macOS and Linux, and WOFF2 and WOFF for websites, with a CSS @font-face rule to copy.
Can I keep working on it later?
Yes. The font is kept in this browser between visits, and Save project puts an .sfont file in Files (or Download project gives you the file) to open again later.
Does it cover å, ä and ö?
Yes. The grid has Basic Latin, Latin-1 (å ä ö é ñ ß) and Latin Extended-A; you can also type any characters into the box above the grid to add them.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The font is drawn, built and saved in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
