Ledger · free, in your browser
A free QuickBooks alternative, in your browser
If you want small-business books without an online account, the ITpris business apps run in your browser: Ledger keeps double-entry books that invoices and expenses post to as you work.
How to do it
- Set the company profile and base currency in Admin.
- Issue invoices in Invoices and record costs in Expenses; each posts to the ledger.
- Import your bank statement CSV in the Bank tab and match it.
- Read the trial balance, the profit and loss and the balance sheet, and download CSV for your accountant.
What it has: a chart of accounts, journal entries with reversals, the general ledger, a trial balance, foreign currency at stored rates, bank matching from CSV, profit and loss, balance sheet, and sales tax by quarter in Reports. What it does not have: payroll, a bank feed, tax filing, or access for an accountant online.
Your files stay on this device: Ledger runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Is Ledger made by Intuit or QuickBooks?
No. ITpris Verktyg is not affiliated with Intuit. QuickBooks is a trademark of its owner, and the name is used here only to describe what people search for.
Can my accountant see the books?
Not online. Download the journal and trial balance as CSV, or print the statements, and send them.
Can posted entries be edited?
No. As in proper books, a posted entry is corrected by reversing it and posting a new one. Each entry can be reversed once.
