Screen Recorder guide
Getting started with Screen Recorder
Screen Recorder records your screen, a window or tab, your webcam, your microphone, or the screen with your webcam in a corner. It runs in your browser and the recording stays on your device.
Choose what to record
What this browser can record, under the stage, says what your browser allows: phones cannot record the screen, and only Chrome and Edge share sound from the screen.
- On the right, under Record, pick Screen, Webcam, Screen + webcam or Microphone.
- Under Sound, tick Sound from the screen or tab and Microphone as you need.
- For Screen + webcam, pick the webcam's corner and size under Webcam.
- Under Countdown, pick no countdown or 3, 5 or 10 seconds.
Record, pause and stop
- Press Record at the foot of the panel (or Alt+R). For the screen, the browser asks what to share.
- The countdown runs over the picture, then the red badge shows the time recorded.
- Press Pause (Alt+P) to hold the recording and Resume to go on; the pause is left out of the video.
- Press Stop, or Stop sharing in the browser's own bar.
Trim and save
A WebM is trimmed by playing the kept part once in real time. MP4 and GIF are made by the video engine, a one-time download of about 32 MB, on your device.
- Play the recording in the player. Under Trim, move Start and End, or press Start at the playhead and End at the playhead.
- Under Save as, choose WebM (as recorded), MP4 or GIF; a sound-only recording saves as WebM or WAV.
- Press Download, Save to Files, or Open in… to send it to Video Editor or another app.
Tip: Open recording… in the header opens a recording you made before, to trim it or save it in another format.
