Screen Recorder · free, in your browser

Record your screen with sound

Which sounds a web page may record depends on the browser. Screen Recorder shows what yours allows, records the screen's sound and your microphone together, and mixes them into one track.

Record the screen with sound

How to do it

  1. Open Screen Recorder and choose Screen.
  2. Tick Sound from the screen or tab, and Microphone if you want your voice too.
  3. Press Record. In the browser's sharing window, pick a tab and tick Share tab audio, or pick the whole screen and tick Share system audio where it is offered.
  4. Stop when you are done, trim the ends, and save as WebM or MP4.

Chrome and Edge share a tab's sound everywhere and the whole screen's sound on Windows and ChromeOS. Firefox and Safari share no sound from the screen, so only the microphone is recorded there. The page lists what your browser can do under What this browser can record.

Your files stay on this device: Screen Recorder runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.

Questions

Why is there no sound from my screen?

Your browser or the choice in its sharing window shared none: a single window never shares sound, and Firefox and Safari share none at all. Pick a browser tab in Chrome or Edge and tick Share tab audio.

Are the two sounds mixed?

Yes. The screen's sound and the microphone are mixed into one track on your computer while you record.

Can I save it as MP4?

Yes. Choose MP4 under Save as. It is made on your computer by the video engine, downloaded once the first time.
