STL to GLB converter
Show a 3D print on a website or in AR. glTF counts in metres with Y up, while STL from CAD is usually millimetres with Z up, and both can be fixed here.
Accepts
STL 3D model (.stl, binary or ASCII). Other file types are not converted on this page.
How to convert
- Drop the .stl file, binary or ASCII.
- Choose Millimetres to metres (× 0.001) and Z up to Y up so the model stands the right way at the right size.
- After converting, the status line gives the triangle and vertex counts, the size, and what the new format could not hold.
Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser, and the file is never sent to ITpris Verktyg or to any other server.
Questions
Why is my model lying on its side?
CAD and slicers usually use Z as up, glTF uses Y. Choose Z up to Y up in the options.
Will it have a colour?
STL has no materials, so the GLB gets one plain light grey material. A binary STL that carries a colour for each triangle keeps those colours.
How big will the GLB be?
Somewhat larger than the binary STL, because each corner of each triangle is stored with its own normal.
